ROOM 2 CHILDREN'S FAMILY TRADITIONS

Every two years we have a family Guy Fawkes party with lots of fireworks and we celebrate Taylor’s birthday with it.  Taylor

The birthday person gets to choose what to do for dinner, e.g. MacDonalds. Sarah

We celebrate birthdays with a cake.  Dad said a karakia when we were born.  When a baby is born we keep the placenta and bury it at home. Jade
On the morning of our birthdays, Dad makes us pancakes the shape of the number we are turning. Grace

CHRISTMAS
For Christmas we have a hangi and special decorations. Sam
We like to go and see both lots of grandparents on Christmas. We get a pine tree from Poppa’s beach. It smells nice. Jett
We like to spend the day with our families and other special people and eat lots of yummy food! Haylee
We always put the angel on top of the tree. We have a family day with all our family – no working. Sarah
We put our Christmas tree up after Jack’s birthday (18th December) and then we decorate it together! Fred
Every Christmas Lily, Hugo and I do a play about Mary, Joseph and Jesus. And it’s about him getting born. Skye
