Stories about the Emperor Penguin at Pekapeka Beach, Wellington

The emperor penguin came to New Zealand on Tuesday.  He swam to Wellington. He'd better get used to sand and grass.  They'd better let him swim back.

I think the emperor penguin got lost. He came swimming.  It hs big.  It came on Tuesday.  It came to New Zealand. It might have been chasing a fish, a fast one.  The penguin is black and white.  It might miss its family.  It has to get used to the hot.  And it came without anyone.  I felt sad for it.

This penguin came to New Zealand.  We don't know why he came here.  Maybe he wanted to try some new fish.  His family is sad.  He is sad.  It came on Tuesday.

The penguin was chasing a normal fish and the penguin got lost.  Now he is in New Zealand.
Then the penguin looked where he was, in New Zealand!  Then he felt sad.

This penguin came to NZ on Tuesday because he wanted a holiday.  The sun is hot for him.  He swam 3000 km.  He came to a NZ beach.  I felt sad for it.
He went shopping.  He got some penguin toys for his penguin friends.

This penguin swam all the way to New Zealand.  It came on Tuesday. I think it was chasing a fish.  It is feeling lonely.

The emperor penguin went swimming to New Zealand.  Did he come in the day or night?  He felt terrible.

  1. I love these stories about the big penguin! They use 'who', 'when', 'where' and maybe 'why'. I wonder if the penguin will get back to Antarctica. Mrs Murphy

  2. I am pleased that you are so interested and so concerned about the penguin. Your stories show a lot of thought. I do hope he will get better - maybe he will be taken back to Antarctica, as it would be very tiring to swim all the way back again!
