DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

Friday 5 November is Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light. We having been learning how Hindu children celebrate Diwali. Today we drew Rangoli patterns in chalk. You can put them on your doorstep to welcome visitors!

CATCHING THE BUTTERFLIES

In the holidays I got a new pink net at Te Puke. Then we went home.
The next day I woke up.
“Poppa,” I said, “Can I please get the net out of the boot?”
Poppa said yes and I ran to the car. I got in the car and I pushed the button and I ran to the end of the car and opened up the boot door and took the net out of the boot.
And I caught 6 butterflies and I put the butterflies in a jar.
I watched the butterflies fly and fly and I laughed.
“Ha, ha, ha.”
I like catching white butterflies because I get to watch them fly. I wish that there are more butterflies because I can use my net more often.

Some of our latest stories

Shopping
Yesterday I went to the supermarket. We got a trolley. You guessed it, it had a broken wheel on it and it was hard to steer.
Guess what? I unpacked the shopping.
I said, “Mum, can I unpack the shopping?”
And I put the cereal in the cupboard.

Christian the Lion
Dad read a book to me and it was called
‘Christian the Lion.’ And he lived at a zoo.
And one day some people came to the zoo and bought Christian.
And he was sad.

The Dentist
I went to the dentist. I had a filling.
I felt sad but it didn’t hurt.

MALIA'S BIRD NEST

On Monday me and Jade walked over to a spikey tree. I said to Mum, "Quickly, quickly, the baby bird has hatched."
I said to Mum, "Don't touch the baby."
And they finally hatched. But there is still one more egg to hatch.
